Packaging Design • Custom Dieline • Retail Concept • Product Branding

Foil & Clay is a packaging concept developed for a small-batch, handmade jewelry brand known for bold statement earrings. The objective was to create a packaging system that elevates handcrafted accessories into a refined retail experience, balancing expressive design with structural clarity.
The challenge was to design packaging that felt distinctive and artistic without overwhelming the product itself. Drawing inspiration from Art Nouveau, particularly its flowing line work and ornamental framing. The package direction focused on elegant structure paired with bold restraint. A predominantly monochrome palette was chosen to create contrast, allowing metallic foil accents and vibrant earrings to act as focal points.
The packaging system was built around the idea of framing the product as wearable art. Custom dielines were developed to create a sculptural outer form with a die-cut window that reveals the earrings while maintaining containment and protection. Material choices were intentionally minimal, matte surfaces paired with selective foil detailing, creating subtle texture and visual hierarchy. The result is packaging that functions as both protective housing and a display piece.
The final design is a cohesive retail-ready packaging system that enhances perceived value while preserving the brand’s bold personality. The structure supports small-batch production, maintains visual consistency across product variations, and creates a memorable unboxing experience. Foil & Clay demonstrates strategic packaging thinking — where form, material, and brand identity work as one.
