Event Identity • Rebrand Concept • Branding System • Original Illustration

ManyFest is one of Winnipeg’s largest street festivals, celebrating food, music, and community. This concept rebrand explores how the event’s identity could evolve to attract a younger audience while maintaining its family-friendly roots. The goal was to create a bold, cohesive system that feels energetic, playful, and unmistakably festival-driven.
The challenge was refreshing an established community event without alienating its existing audience. Research into past marketing and audience demographics revealed a lack of a consistent visual personality. Which opened an opportunity to create something ownable and character-driven. Nostalgia became the bridge. I drew inspiration from rubber-hose vintage character design and animation, then grounded it with a limited colour palette and bold typography to keep it modern.
The identity centres around animated joy, turning food into expressive characters that embody the chaos and excitement of a festival. The hero visual features a mischievous pizza slice riding atop a food truck, blending absurd humour with high-energy motion. Exploration focused on balancing playful illustration with structured layouts, ensuring the system felt dynamic but controlled.
The final result is a complete event branding system, including a custom mascot, campaign visuals, merchandise, website, advertisements, digital assets, and environmental applications. The system is modular and scalable, allowing the event to evolve while maintaining a strong, recognizable presence. Energetic. Inclusive. Memorable.
